Antique John Round and Sons Silver Bridal Basket. Antique John Round and Sons Sheffield, England bridal basket circa 1847. This gorgeous piece is in excellent condition featuring a lovely floral center with fancy, ornate pierced silver work. Ruffle scalloped edge features a small ¼ edge moving into a sloping side with pierced floral cut outs. A bouquet of 3 petal flowers with leaves is found in an oval shape at the center of the basket.
Rib lines below the pierce work with sweeping curved leaves at each point of the scalloped design mirroring this design on the exterior of the basket. Each foot features three toes with a flat standing surface.
Handle moves freely resting on the edge when collapsed, four feet are sturdy and sound. Scarce find, beautiful patina perfect for any collector or museum. The condition is unbelievable! This piece is estimated to be 168 years old based on the hallmarks. Tiny minor loss of silver-plate noted on the serving surface.
